Hello Ray, this was a timely read and reminder. I do agree and I have been reflecting on the needs of my parents. I do see the need to be more preemptive in my communication with parents. One of the things I can start with includes pursuing a parent wrestling with moving her only child to a brick and mortar. I hope to connect this child with another child who lives in her area. I can also contact our Management Team to continue to support this goal. These parents will also be visiting our Virtual EL program soon!

I am currently pursuing parent meetings and connection. We begin with an article that we read together. The last article we read was, “Father Forgets,” by W. Livingston Larned. These times have connected us as fellow parents. We are growing in our trust of one another and sharing both good and not so good times—as it relates to parenting. I consider them as my Parent Advisory Board. They understand that I value their opinions and ideas, and I implement them as soon as possible. They also understand that there are boundaries in keeping with foundational Montessori principles that I will steer us back toward when needed.

This is so on-point and well-written. I recently wrote/published a podcast about this topic so it was great to see another Montessorian share a similar viewpoint. Also, just subscribed to your publication, looking forward to reading more.
